She just loves those antlers.
And the Rudolph song.
This is how Daddy and Miss R went grocery shopping this morning. Yup, in public. Singing all the way.
Merry Christmas!

I know just about everyone has a pair of those reindeer antlers, or at least a santa hat. We also have the privilege of owning a glowing reindeer nose.
You may not be able to see the glowing nose, but it’s there.
The antlers went on too. But you’ll never know, because my camera does not react faster than a 2 year old.
Mommy and Daddy had a “moment” this week.
Our first child’s first Christmas production.
And she did not disappoint. After 2 weeks of practicing Jingle Bells-with the hand shaking for the bells-she got up in front of everyone and refused to sing. Not only refused to sing, but pulled her dress up right around her belly button.
Not that you’ll see that picture, because we didn’t get any. Not for lack of trying. Daddy and I both thought THOSE would be wonderful to have on hand when she turned 16.
Despite not singing one of her favorite songs, she was still cute. And the fact that the entire program lasted less than 20 minutes didn’t hurt either.
She recovered quite nicely after the program was over.
A special thank you to Aunt Deb for the absolutely adorable dress. Miss R loved wearing it and twirled several times before we were allowed to continue with socks and shoes.
And with our super cool new hat from our friend Nicole,
Miss R learns how to vogue in front of the camera.
She is such a camera hog.
But what a cutie.
Thanks Nicole!
Merry Christmas to you too!
A day late, but here’s what we saw yesterday morning.
That’s the view from our kitchen porch. It was quite a sight.
Over at Knerq, Nicole does this every week. I was inspired yesterday, and probably only this Saturday to do this
I just had to take a break yesterday, although it was very hard. They say that after 21 days of doing something it becomes habit. Sure enough, this silly blog has become a habit.
I made a hat. I don’t know who it’s for yet.
But it’s pretty versatile
I think there will be more of these in the near future.
We had so much fun over the holiday weekend.
Here’s some pictures.
Here’s Gramma and Grampa. They’re off for adventure on the open road pretty soon. I envy them the warm weather.
And here are the cousins and aunt and uncle. Congrats Andrea and Natalie on the wedding plans!
And here are the girls. 3 generations right there. GG, Stephanie, Miss R, and Mommy.
Gramma went outside and got us something exciting to play with. Can you tell what it is?
Yup, it’s snow. We had about 3 inches of the fluffy stuff Thanksgiving afternoon.
Daddy got into the action too.
Happy Holidays!
Ta DA!
This is my favorite cozy corner.
Finished! And just in time for all the festivities!
And if anyone makes any reference to Chicago, Bears, or football, I will show you how different Pumpkin Toast Orange is to Chicago Bears Orange, thank-you-very-much.
This weekend, while taking care of the kitchen disaster, we also managed to do some yard work. It was necessary. The grass hadn’t been mowed since sometime in August and was threatening to take over the house in a fit of jungle fever. Plus, it made it that much harder to rake leaves.
OUT WITH THE MOWER! We said.
Of course, all those leaves meant that the mower wasn’t getting very far.
Back to raking first.
Miss R had a splendid time. She would diligently rake a small pile of leaves (about 4 leaves) into a small pile, then drop the rake and run like mad for Mommy’s pile of leaves. After the first few times of this and thinking, “awwww, so cute!” I came to realize what an AWFUL mess she was making of my pile!
We tried a different tactic. Help Mommy get the leaves on the tarp to drag them into the street. She loved pulling the tarp. But before we could dump it, she had to jump in the leaves again. More raking and more dragging, and they were finally at the curb.
What a lovely diversion from painting the kitchen.
Plus Miss R slept like a log, so when we did get back to the kitchen to paint, we had 2 uninterrupted hours to paint like crazy mad monkeys with paintbrushes. Only a little neater.
